Nominations for the 2016 Terry Hershey Texas Women in Conservation Award are open now through August 14. Now is the time to recognize and honor the women you know who have made an impact on conservation in the great state of Texas.
Audubon’s Texas Women in Conservation Award is named after Terry Hershey, who, as Carter Smith, Executive Director of Texas Parks and Wildlife, said “She’s been aptly described by just about everybody as a force of nature.” In February of 2015 Audubon Texas, in partnership with the Houston Audubon Society, held the first Texas Women in Conservation luncheon at River Oaks Country Club in Houston, TX, where four female conservationists were awarded the inaugural Terry Hershey Award for outstanding leadership in the world of Texas conservation. The 2016 class of awardees will be honored at the Texas Women in Conservation luncheon at the Forth Worth Club on March 3, and will be selected from a pool of qualified nominees, evaluated on their contributions to conservation in Texas as pioneers, professionals and philanthropists.
Don’t miss your chance to nominate a female conservationists who, like Terry Hershey, has shown leadership, innovation, and passion for the landscapes and wildlife of the Lone Star State. Nominations can be submitted by email or mail by the addresses below through August 14, 2015. To learn more, download the nomination form.
