This year marks the 5th year for the Fall Wildlife Festival and Plant Sale. This free community event is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2009, at the Mitchell Lake Audubon Center.

This event provides families with the opportunity to enjoy a day filled with activities including hayrides, birdhouse building, a raptor show, gardening tips, nature crafts, wildlife walks, birding tours, conservation workshops, native plant sale, reptile exhibit and the San Antonio Water System Autumn Bloom giveaway.

It is also an important fundraiser for Mitchell Lake. Funds raised at the festival and through raffle ticket sales benefit Mitchell Lake's education, conservation and family programs.

Milberger Landscape Nursery is one the contributors for the Fall Festival Raffle Grand Prize and one of the retail locations for raffle ticket sales. Raffle tickets sell for $2.00 each or 6 for $10.00.

The Grand Prize is a custom landscape project to design and install a hummingbird/butterfly garden, valued at $3500. There are multiple secondary prizes ranging from Spurs tickets, gift certificates, binoculars, family passes for local museum and exhibits and more.

Prizes will be awarded during the Festival, October 24th.
